CN's EJ&E-painted heritage unit hits US rails

GRAYSLAKE, Ill. – Canadian National ES44AC No. 3023, the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern-painted heritage locomotive, has arrived in the Chicago area on Wednesday morning. The unit was trailing on train M34041-16, which will interchange to Norfolk Southern for Elkhart, Ind.

The railroad has released five such heritage units this month painted for roads it has acquired: BC Rail (No. 3115); Grand Trunk Western (No. 8952); Illinois Central (No. 3008); Wisconsin Central (No. 3069); and Elgin, Joliet & Eastern.
