SAGINAW, Texas — The Dallas-Fort Worth area's premier annual train-watching event will return in 2018.

The North Texas Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society will host the 13th annual "24 Hours @ Saginaw" between 7 p.m. on Friday, May 25, and 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 26 at the Saginaw Chamber of Commerce.

"Mark your calendars and get your lawn chairs ready (sleeping bags too)," the group said on the event's Facebook page, "It's time to watch some trains!"

2018's 24 Hours @ Saginaw will also feature presentations from railroad historians based around the country, a silent auction, trivia questions, and a slide show.

"We have a whole have a whole new fresh list of trivia questions this year," says Skip Waters, chairman of the North Texas Chapter. "We also are offering another souvenir T-shirts."

The Chamber of Commerce is adjacent to three mainline tracks owned by BNSF Railway and Union Pacific. Past 24 Hours events have averaged at least 40 separate trains during the event's official hours. Occasionally, nearby agriculture businesses operate their industrial locomotives on the adjacent spurs.
