WASHINGTON — Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao delivers the oath of office to Ronald L. Batory, the new head of the Federal Railroad Administration. Batory is the first FRA administrator with hands-on railroad experience since Joe Szabo, President Barack Obama’s nominee, left office in 2014.
The ceremony Feb. 28 was attended by some 100 friends, family, railroad executives, and government officials.
Batory’s wife, Barbara is at his left. Batory pledged that the FRA’s main focus will be on safety.
