DES PLAINES — The city of Des Plaines, Ill., will fund a study to determine if it should add a Metra station that would provide better access to O’Hare International Airport.
The Daily Herald reports that the city will spend $175,000 to determine whether commuter interest would justify building the station, which would be located on the North Central Service near the intersection of Oakton and Lee streets.
If the study shows sufficient interest, the city would then submit the results to Metra to seek approval for a new stop, and have to cover some or all of the construction costs for the new stop.
