PITTSBURGH — Organizers for the annual Joint Rail Conference are finalizing presentations with authors ahead of their next annual meeting to be held April 18 to 21 in Pittsburgh.

The JRC Conference is sponsored cooperatively by eight technical societies. It attracts engineers and technical personnel from multiple disciplines, representing operators, equipment builders, component suppliers, designers, consultants, academia, regulatory agencies and research organizations. Included in the program will be prominent keynote speakers from the rail industry. Organizers will notify paper authors if their work has been accepted by Jan. 19.

The 2018 JRC offers the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in rail transportation as well as time for networking with other professionals in the industry. The keynote speakers are all recognized leaders in the rail industry.

Conference tracks include infrastructure engineering, equipment engineering, safety and security, urban passenger rail transport, and more. The conference is hosted by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
