BALTIMORE — To transport all the home going Thanksgiving travelers, Amtrak leased equipment from neighboring commuter lines. The result was equipment that strayed far from home rails. At Bowie, Md., on Nov. 25, MARC commuter cars were on their way to New York, while NJ Transit electric units were on the last leg of their trip to Washington, DC.
