Tennessee museum to spotlight repainted GP7

Fresh-painted Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis GP7 No. 710 in red-and-yellow colors is ready for a special parade of locomotives this weekend at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Visitors to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum's annual railfest this weekend will get a chance to see a fresh-painted Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis locomotive.

Museum crews finished painting NC&St.L. GP7 No. 710 in red-and-yellow colors in just the past few weeks in time to parade it with other locomotives on Sept. 10. The locomotive now appears as-delivered by EMD to the railroad.

The locomotive parade is scheduled to include Southern Railway 2-8-2 No. 4501, 2-8-0 No. 630, GP30 No. 2594, GP38-2 No. 5000, SD70 No. 3170; Tennessee, Alabama & Georgia GP38 No. 80; Tennessee Valley SW1200 No. 606, and GP7L No. 1829.
