CALGARY, Alberta — Managers at Canadian Pacific and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference have agreed to renew an existing labor agreement for engineers and conductors.
The agreement, which is still subject to ratification, was set to expire on Dec. 31, but the union and railroad have agreed to renew the existing agreement for a year.
CP’s Keith Creel says he looks forward to working with the union to build the framework for a longer term agreement.
Teamsters’ T&E division represents approximately 3,000 Canadian conductors and engineers at CP.
CP has ratified several labor agreements for various workers this year, including an hourly wage agreement for Soo Line railroaders and other agreements for train dispatchers, maintenance-of-way workers, and other employees.
