INDIANPOLIS — A CSX Transportation derailment in a yard near Indianapolis has shut down a busy street and caused at least two freight cars to lose some of their contents, Indianapolis' WISH-TV 8 reports.
Footage available on the news station's website showed a covered hopper carrying grain smashed between a string of tank cars and a CSX and KCS locomotive.
The incident occurred near the intersection of White River Parkway Drive and West Washington Street in Indianapolis.
Railroad representative Rob Doolittle tells
Trains News Wire the incident has caused the release of grain and some non-hazardous lubricating oil from two railcars.
“The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. No injuries have been reported,” says Doolittle.
