SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Hanson Professional Services, Inc., a transportation and engineering consultancy has purchased Engineered Rail Solutions LLC.

Engineered Rail Solutions is an industry firm specializing in logistical and market analysis, engineering design services, and operational efficiency. The firm focuses primarily on the rail and material handling industries.

According to a Hanson news release, the two firms entered into a partnership in December 2016 in an effort to bring ERS’ logistical and program management services to Hanson’s rail industry customers.

Together, Hanson can help its railroad customers with engineering, marketing analysis, land development, program management, environmental permitting, financial analysis, and site usage.

Hanson officials say the partnership with ERG benefits Class I railroads, port authorities, and industry contractors.

Hanson is a national, employee-owned consultancy providing engineering, planning, and allied services. The company is headquartered in Springfield.
