NEW YORK — The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority has named Janno Lieber as its chief development officer. Lieber, a real estate and construction executive who is currently president of the World Trade Center Properties, will oversee the agency’s capital projects that focus on capacity expansion.

Some of the projects include the extension of the Second Avenue subway, the Long Island Rail Road triple track project, the East Side access project, and other initiatives that would bring the Metro-North Railroad into Penn Station, among other infrastructure plans.

Lieber joins the transit agency after spending 14 years managing the multi-billion dollar development of commercial properties at the World Trade Center. Janno also has experience in private sector real estate development.
