NRHS chapter to host Budd car excursion on Reading & Northern

PORT CLINTON, Pa. — Rail enthusiasts will have the chance to ride Reading & Northern Budd cars Nos. 9166 and 9168 this spring during a photo excursion on the Reading & Northern Railroad.

The Lehigh Valley Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society is hosting the April 22 excursion. The trip will leave from the railroad’s Pot Clinton station promptly at 8:30 a.m. and will operate between Saint Clair, Pottsville Junction, and North Reading. The excursion will also operate on freight-only sections of the railroad’s Saint Clair line through Yuengling Junction.

The excursion will feature several photo runby stops and additional tours of railroad facilities, including its engine shops, dispatching center, corporate offices, and other train stations.

Tickets are $49 per person and must be reserved before March 15. If interested, checks must be mailed to the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the NRHS at 4408 Hoffman Drive 2nd Floor, Whitehall, Pa., 18052.
