ALNA, Maine — Two narrow gauge railroads in Maine are teaming up for a January photo charter and tickets are selling fast. The Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum and the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum are hosting a joint photo charter on the WW&F on Jan. 14 and 15 and Jan. 21 and 22.

The event will feature recently restored WW&F 0-4-4T No. 9 and Monson Railroad 0-4-4T No. 3 on freight and passenger trains. Locomotive No. 3 is in Portland, Maine, heading up the Maine Narrow Gauge’s annual Polar Express trains, and will be trucked to Alna in January, along with a passenger car from the Bridgton & Saco River Railroad.

Wesley Heinz of the Maine Narrow Gauge tells Trains News Wire that the first weekend is already sold out but there are still tickets available for Jan. 21 and 22. The two-day charter is $400 per person.
