WASHINGTON – A second Amtrak locomotive honoring U.S. military veterans is in transit to Washington on Monday morning. The locomotive, Siemens-built ACS-64 electric No. 642, is en route to Washington on the eastbound Capitol Limited. The train is scheduled to arrive in Washington on Monday afternoon.
The locomotive deadheaded from the passenger carrier's Beech Grove shops near Indianapolis on train No. 851 on Sunday. Once in Chicago it was added to the consist of train No. 30 for the trip east.
Amtrak has not announced an official unveiling ceremony yet.
