NEW HAVEN, Conn. — CTRail’s Shore Line East commuter service will resume a full schedule on Monday, Aug. 5, following more than a year of reduced schedules and bus substitutions during a major track-work project.

The service between New Haven and New London, Conn., was curtailed beginning April 23, 2018, the CT Examiner reports, with bus service replacing some trains. Bus service concluded in October 2018, but a reduced schedule continued and bus substitutions resuming in April.

The Examiner reports that ridership has decreased by 25 percent during the disruptions, with the average number of weekday riders falling to 1,340 and weekend riders to just 767.

A rundown of changes under the schedule effective Monday, and a link to the new schedule, are available here.
