WAUKESHA, Wis. — Trains, The Magazine of Railroading, is looking for new digital correspondents to help us boost the variety of stories published through our daily News Wire.

We're looking for:
Writers and reporters with experience, story-telling ability, curiosity, and a willingness to be coached.

What are big plusses?:
• A passion for modern railroading in all its forms.
• Experience meeting deadlines and staying calm under pressure.
• A strong desire to get the facts of a story, and get them right the first time.
• Eagerness to take assignments from editors and to "own" topics of special interest.
• Ability and willingness to learn and use the latest technology available for digital publishing.
• Demonstrated skill in photography, video, and/or audio gathering and digital production.

Negotiated freelance rate, depending on experience. All correspondents are paid monthly based on published works they invoice.

In your email message, tell us in a few paragraphs why you think you would do well as a digital correspondent. Please also send hyperlinks to three recently published works. Please make sure to tell us your full name, home location, the region and topics you cover, and the best way to reach you if we have questions.

Trains editors will contact the applicants they believe will best fit the magazine's needs. Unfortunately, editors will not be able to respond to all applicants.
