Amtrak modifies service ahead of Hurricane Michael

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Amtrak is advising its customers Tuesday afternoon of pending service changes ahead of the projected arrival of Hurricane Michael.

According to the passenger carrier, Silver Star Nos. 91 and 92 will operate from Miami to Jacksonville, Fla. No alternate transportation will be provided between Jacksonville and New York City.

Additionally, Palmetto Nos. 89 and 90 will operate between New York City and Washington, D.C. No alternate transportation will be provided between Washington and Savannah.

The storm is expected to come ashore in the Florida Panhandle on Wednesday and turn east toward the route of the two trains.
