PORTLAND, Maine — Beginning Saturday, Sept. 8, track work between Brunswick, Maine, and Dover, N.H., will bring changes and service interruptions on Amtrak’s Downeaster for several weeks. Work will continue until mid-October.

The Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority, which operates the Downeaster, advises that on weekdays, some trains will not operate, and passengers traveling between Brunswick and Dover can expect to use bus transportation for a portion of the trip. All weekend trains are expected to operate but construction-related delays should be expected.

During this period, Downeaster passengers are advised to make advance reservations and pay attention to travel alerts. Schedules for the periods of Sept. 10-16 and Sept. 17-Oct. 5, along with detailed, station-specific information is available at this page on the Downeaster website.
