MILWAUKEE – The fifth and final streetcar for Milwaukee’s new downtown service was delivered on Friday morning, arriving by truck from Brookville Equipment Corp.’s factory in Brookville, Pa.

The 2.5-mile line, known as "The Hop," is expected to open in late 2018. According to the Milwaukee Streetcar website, the line is projected to generate about 1,850 rides per day and more than 595,000 rides in 2019, its first full year of operation.

Rides will be offered at no cost for the first year thanks to a sponsorship deal with Milwaukee's Potawatomi Hotel & Casino.
