LA CROSSE, Wis. – BNSF Railway confirms the reopening of its Chicago to Twin Cities main line on Thursday to Trains News Wire.

Spokeswoman Amy McBeth says that the first track reopened about 7 a.m. and the second track is expected top open late Thursday. She notes that severe weather caused multiple washouts on the former Burlington Northern route south of the city.

Heavy rain has caused multiple service disruptions on main lines in the state this week and disrupted service on Amtrak's Empire Builder route.
