PITTSBURGH — Light rail commuters enjoyed a return to full service for Monday’s commute after final repairs were completed to the transit line damaged in the Aug. 5 derailment of a Norfolk Southern train.

Repairs were completed Saturday to the inbound tracks Station Square station, damaged when the NS intermodal train derailed on a line above the station, sending cars and containers onto the tracks. The station had partially reopened on Thursday, when the outbound track reopened [See “Pittsburgh light rail station reopens after derailment,” Trains News Wire, Aug. 23, 2018.]
