LOS ANGELES – The second annual Summer Train Festival is coming to Los Angeles Union Station on July 14. The free family event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will include:
  • Amtrak and Metrolink equipment displays
  • Privately-owned rail cars from the golden age of train travel: 1940s streamlined California Zephyr cars Silver Lariat and Silver Solarium, plus 1923 Santa Fe business car Redwood Empire, lounge Utah, and the National Forum from Pacific Railroad Society
  • Model railroad displays and tutorials from the Los Angeles Model Railroad Society, High Desert Modular Model Railroad Club, the Del Oro Pacific Large Scale Modular Railroaders, and top private model-railroad collectors.
  • 360-degree virtual reality stations
  • Classic cars and food trucks
  • Displays from California High-Speed Rail, LA Railroad Heritage Foundation, and Travel Town Museum in Griffith Park
  • A kids’ zone with Thomas the Tank Engine, games, and face painting
