RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia's new governor is turning heads in the railfan community for his grand entrance to the inaugural ball on Jan. 13.

Not only was the inaugural ball held in Richmond's landmark 1901-built station originally serving Seaboard Air Line and Chesapeake & Ohio passengers, but Gov. Ralph Northam, a Democrat, arrived on Norfolk Southern executive passenger cars pulled by NS locomotives, Nos. 5079 and 3526, a GP38-2 and an SD40-2, respectively.

The tracks into the depot are owned by CSX Transportation.
