BOSTON — Amtrak train service continues to be temporarily suspended between Boston and Brunswick, Maine, on the Downeaster until further notice.

Alternative transportation for trains 686 (departing Portland, Maine at approximately 2:25 p.m. Eastern) and 687 (departing Boston North Station at approximately 6:15 p.m.) is available, servicing Portland, Saco, Wells, and Boston North Station in both directions. Severe overnight weather conditions in the region resulted in downed trees and power outages.

The debris from tracks have been cleared, but commercial power is still being restored to the area.
