HOWELL, Mich. — There's at least 1,000 different ways to enjoy a steam locomotive excursion. But Greg Jacek has found one way that we find addictive: a 360-degree, high-resolution video of Pere Marquette 2-8-4 No. 1225 leading an excursion near Howell for that community's annual MelonFest. Viewers can not only see straight ahead, but in every direction as the revered steamer travels the Michigan countryside in late summer sunshine.
