LONDON — Pentalver Transport Limited, a subsidiary of Genesee & Wyoming, has started work on phase two of its Pentalver container facility at Berth 7 at the DP World London Gateway. The facility is a deep-sea container port and logistics facility on the Thames River.

Phase two of the project will expand container capacity by 40 percent. The investment follows the first phase of the project, which opened in 2015.

According to a G&W news release, Pentalver is one of the largest container services in the United Kingdom, operating from all southern ports including London Gateway, Southampton, Felixstowe, and Tilbury. Combined, the company handles more than 1 million twenty-footy-equivalent units annually.
