GARFIELD, N.J. — A Polish immigrant living in Garfield, N.J., is still alive after being hit by a NJ Transit train over the weekend, the Garfield-Lodi Daily Voice reports.

The 30-year-old father of one sustained a broken collarbone after a Hoboken-bound commuter train struck the man near Van Winkel Avenue. The train was deadheading to Hoboken terminal with only three crew members at the time of the incident, according to the article.

The incident occurred on the agency’s Bergen County rail line. NJ Transit police are investigating the incident.
