Metra names Deno head of human resources

CHICAGO — Metra has hired Jayne K. Deno as its new chief human resources officer. With more than 20 years of experience, Deno will focus on recruiting a talented workforce, employee relations, policy development, and contract negotiations at the Chicago-area commuter railroad.

Deno most recently served as vice president of human resources at Oerlikon Fairfield in Lafayette, Ind., where she was responsible for the company’s human resource activities, labor relations, administering employee benefit programs, and developing succession plans. Oerlikon Fairfield is a manufacturing company specializing in transmissions and industrial products.

Deno has held other positions in human resources management throughout her career. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, and a master’s degree in public management from Indiana University.
