Siemens
BERLIN — Siemens has purchased MRX Technologies Group, an Australian tech company specializing in freight car monitoring and other digital services. Siemens’ mobility division is managing the transaction.

MRX Technologies is a predictive maintenance company that gathers data on railcar fleets and other infrastructure so railroad managers can better plan maintenance cycles and other repairs.

Siemens representatives say the purchase of MRX comes at a time when railroads are negotiating new railcar purchases with long-term maintenance contracts through the manufacturer.

Financial details of the business arrangement were not disclosed.
