UP to run excursion to benefit museum association

OMAHA, Neb. — Union Pacific is cranking up its heritage diesel fleet for an excursion Aug. 13 from Omaha to Columbus, Neb. Proceeds from the Union Pacific Museum Special 2017 will benefit the Union Pacific Railroad Museum Association.

The train will depart the Durham Museum in Omaha at 8:30 a.m. Passengers may begin boarding at 7:45 a.m. for the 90-mile run to Columbus. The trip is expected to last between three and four hours.

The consist will the UP's classic E9 locomotives, leading a mix of coaches and dome cars, plus the private car City of San Francisco.

Tickets run from $250 for coach seat to $500 for private car seating.
