Progress Rail Services signs five-year contract with Ukrainian supplier

HOUSTON — Progress Rail Services has partnered with Interpipe, a railroad wheel manufacturer in the Ukraine, on a new wheel and axle contract. In the next five-years, Interpipe will provide Progress Rail with more than 10,000 railroad wheels and more than 1,000 railroad axles.

The company has already shipped its first set of wheels and axle production will start in the second quarter of 2017. All of the products will be manufactured in accordance with Association of American Railroads standards.

Interpipe manufactures railroad wheels and steel pipes for more than 80 countries. The Ukrainian company has its North American headquarters in Houston.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
