NJ Chamber of Commerce to run special train in February

NEWARK, N.J. — Elected officials will join community and business leaders on a special New Jersey Chamber of Commerce train in February. The Amtrak-equipped consist will operate along Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor from Newark to Washington on Feb. 16.

In the past, the special excursion has operated with two locomotives and about 18 cars, mainly comprised of bar cars and coaches from Amtrak’s Amfleet collection.

The train is scheduled to leave Newark at 11:35 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, with planned stops in Metropark, New Brunswick, Trenton, Philadelphia, and Wilmington, Del. The train will arrive in Washington around 3:20 p.m. that afternoon.

The train will return to Newark the following day with a scheduled departure from Washington planned for 11:45 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17.
