LONDON — British Pathe, one of the world’s largest historic film archives, has launched a new online, on-demand channel containing an extensive collection of railway documentaries. The films include in-cab views and other historic rail-related content.
The content is tailored to specialty audiences, such as train enthusiasts, history buffs, and cinema aficionados, a news release from the company explains.
Some of the featured content in the new archive includes a near 4-hour documentary on the fall and rise of British Railways during the post-industrial era, a 9-hour documentary covering the history of steam and heritage diesel locomotives in the United Kingdom, among other videos featuring European cab rides and other 20th century content.
