Wisconsin to offer railroad operations, engineering courses

MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Madison is offering a series of railroad engineering and operations courses and seminars in spring 2017 that will cover a variety of topics. University officials are encouraging people to enroll for the professional development courses before they fill up.

On Feb. 7 and 8, the school is offering a course on track construction and project management at Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Then on April 3 and 4, the school is offering a two-day course on the fundamentals of traction power systems and overhead contact systems at its Madison campus. And finally, on April 18 and 19, the school is offering another two-day course on the fundamentals of railway bridge engineering and management.

Courses start at $1,195.
