The National Railway Historical Society is accepting applications for its annual heritage grants program. Eligible programs and projects can request up to $5,000 from the organization as part of the 2017 program.

Grant funding can be used for rail preservation programs and projects at rail museums, historical societies, and society chapters. The 50-50 or 1:1 matching grants can range anywhere from $250 to $5,000.

In 2016, the organization awarded 14 recipients with $35,000 in grants.
