BARDSTOWN, Ky. — R.J. Corman’s board of trustees has appointed chairman of the company’s board of directors to serve as the interim president and CEO of R.J. Corman Railroad Group LLC. Fred Mudge will serve in the top position until the board of trustees selects the best individual to permanently fill the role.

Mudge has served with R.J. Corman for 17 years. Before joining the company, he spent years working in the aluminum business and served as secretary of transportation for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The railroad says his experience with internal company operations and external customer relationships make him well qualified to serve in the role during the transition.

The board of trustees hopes to have found a permanent president and CEO within the next 60 to 90 days. Once a permanent leader is appointed, Mudge will return to his seat as board chairman.
