SPENCER, N.C. – The North Carolina Transportation Museum’s annual Fire Truck Show brought back memories of Norfolk Southern’s 30th anniversary heritage celebration and Streamliners at Spencer, but this time – with fire trucks.

During the weekend of June 18 and 19, more than 30 fire trucks gathered around the turntable of the Bob Julian roundhouse in Spencer. The centerpiece? Norfolk Southern’s specially painted “Honoring First Responders” SD60E No. 911.

Norfolk & Western J-Class No. 611 was also on site and under steam during last weekend’s festivities with a series of caboose rides and “at the throttle” experiences.
