PITTSBURG, Kan. — Watco Transportation Services announced today it is forming a short line, the Swan Ranch Railroad, to operate in the new Swan Ranch Industrial Park in Cheyenne, Wyo.

When fully developed, the Swan Ranch Industrial Park will encompass approximately 7,200 acres. The first phase of development is the Cheyenne Logistics Hub, which will total 1,300 acres and include a transloading terminal.

Watco filed a petition today with the Federal Surface Transportation Board for the SRR to operate the 17,192 feet of track in the industrial park as a switching railroad. This will be the first Watco-owned short line in Wyoming and within an industrial park. Operations are expected to begin in December 2011.
