Bombardier objects to Alstom-PATCO contract

MONTREAL — Bombardier has challenged a Delaware River Port Authority contract with Alstom involving reconstruction of the heavy rail PATCO Speedline, the Canadian Press has reported. Bombardier argues the $194.2 million contract for installation of new car shells was unfairly awarded because the company didn’t have time to present an improved offer.

Bombardier’s bid came in $35 million higher than Alstom’s.
