Day 1

If you are flying, arrive at the Denver International Airport and take the shuttle to the Holiday Inn & Suites. In the evening we will gather for a meet and greet, followed by a celebratory arrival dinner. (When booking your flights, please plan a flight that arrives by 4:00 p.m.)

Day 2

Following breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. After a visit of the grounds and a trip around the yard on a restored Galloping Goose motorcar, our group will move to Georgetown where guests will have time to grab lunch and stroll around the quaint village. After lunch the group will go by bus to the station for a ride on the Georgetown Loop Railroad. After the loop, our group will head to Frisco where we will overnight at the Holiday Inn Summit County. Frisco is a charming stop on the way to Leadville, where our train adventure will continue the following day.

Day 3

Following breakfast, we're off to ride the family-run, scenic Leadville, Colorado & Southern. Because this is a chartered train, you may get a chance to ride in the cab! Guests will then have the option of either riding the Manitou & Pikes Peak cog railroad to summit, or exploring the Garden of the Gods, a beautiful park full of unique and grand scenery. We'll wind down the day with an overnight at the Antlers Hilton in Colorado Springs.

Day 4

We depart for Cañon City to ride along the river on the Royal Gorge Route in glass-topped dome cars. Upon returning to Cañon City we drive to the Royal Gorge bridge to photograph our train in this most dramatic setting. Then, we will journey south to Durango. Once in Durango we will settle in for a three-night stay right in the heart of town. Guests will have most of the evening free to explore Durango and dine on their own before turning in at The Historic Strater Hotel in downtown Durango for three nights.

Day 5

Together guests will board the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge. At the end of the line in Silverton, there will be free time to explore and grab lunch in this picturesque and historic village. Upon our return to Durango we'll gather for a private tour of the roundhouse and repair shop.

Day 6

Guests are free to choose between spending a second full day exploring Durango on their own, or enjoying the option to visit Mesa Verde, a famous cliff dwelling definitely worthy of a side trip! Both groups will reunite in Durango to spend the night.

Day 7

The group will travel by bus to Chama, N.M., to hop aboard the narrow-gauge Cumbres & Toltec Scenic for a 64-mile ride to Antonito. NEW for 2017: We will have the option of following the train in our chartered bus across 10,000-foot Cumbres Pass, stopping to make action photos at scenic locations. We'll witness the climb up the 4 percent grade from multiple locations. The group will overnight at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Alamosa.

Day 8

We'll journey from Alamosa to La Veta by way of the Rio Grande Scenic. This will be the final train trip of the tour. The final night will be spent back at the first hotel, the Holiday Inn & Suites at Denver International Airport.

Day 9

Breakfast will be provided at the hotel. The hotel provides shuttles to the airport, so guests can depart at their leisure to make their flights home.
