Tehachapi Depot Museum

The Tehachapi Depot Museum is open to the public Thursday through Monday. It is one of the few remaining Southern Pacific No. 23 Depots left, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. See www.tehachapidepot.com

Midwest Central Railroad, page 102

The railroad traded ex-West Side Lumber Co. Shay No. 9 to Georgetown Lopp in Colorado for that railroad’s locomotive No. 12. The Baldwin 2-6-2 was built for Hawaii's Kahului Railroad in 1929 and will now operate on Midwest Central's 1.25-mile line around the site of the annual Old Threshers Reunion every September. Columbia Star Dinner Train

Operating from Columbia, the dinner train plans to open July 15, 2011, and run year-round. Evening dinner trains will depart on Friday and Saturday nights, and a brunch train on Sunday. The trips run about 3 hours, the train consists of vintage 1930s and ‘40s passenger cars pulled by 1950s streamlined locomotives. Saratoga & North Creek Railway

The Saratoga & North Creek Railway has begun operations. The tourist train runs Thursday through Monday until the end of October. It offers both Coach and Dome service on the trips between Saratoga and North Creek. See www.sncrr.com

Mineral Point Railroad Museum
